- FG = Fast, glycolytic - which is the same as FF = Fast, fatigable
- FI = Fast, intermediate in fatigability
- FOG = fast, oxidative glycolytic -which is the same as FR = Fast, fatigue resistant
- SO = slow, oxidative, utilizing glycogen and fat for energy
